Story
THE ONE THAT “ALMOST” GOT AWAY:
A TUDOR STYLE LAKE COTTAGE THAT WENT THROUGH TWO DIFFERENT SETS OF HOMEOWNERS TO FINALLY FIND ITS TRUE SELF.
We first became acquainted with this lovely 1920’s Tudor style lake cottage when the previous owners wanted to reinvent the 90’s kitchen to match the feel of the overall historic home and improve the function. “Hey! Let’s locate the sink to face the lake!” (I know, brilliant.) The first owner was transferred to the east coast for work during the design process, so we all cried tears of what could have been.
Luckily, the new owner found us! They also thought that maximizing the view was a good idea and were very excited to have a beautiful, functional space to enjoy their growing family. We meticulously replicated beam work and corbels, saved existing doors and provided ample storage and flow throughout the space.
